Thessaloniki-based photographer Lia Nalbantidou has a series of interesting projects under her belt, over the recent period of time. Among them stands out her collaboration with Christian Dior Fashion House and her photo work of the Dior Cruise 2022 – Chez Moi Collection. Lia is one of the ten Greek female photographers invited by Dior and its artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, to photograph the iconic collection that renders homage to Greek culture, for the purposes of “Dior Magazine No.36”. “It was a highly demanding and fascinating project,” she points out.
In addition, she carries on her work for the project “Resilience: as a makeshift herbarium or e.g. how to teach a pine tree”, an outcome of research financed by the Ministry of Culture and Sports. Lia Nalbantidou teamed up with Ioustini Drakoulakou (MA in Photography, Goldsmiths – University of London). Through their photos, the artists shed light onto a critical issue: “We wish to bring forth the stories of people who carry an internalized health-related social stigma”, experiencing social exclusion and marginalization in various ways,” they comment.
