The exquisite photo work by Ioanna Sakellaraki, titled “The Truth is in the soil” will be published in the form of a photography book by London-based GOST Books editions.

As we speak, a campaign is launched at Kickstarter platform, through which signed copies of the book are up for pre-sale, along with a series of limited edition prints and a special edition of the book. The goal of this campaign is to give the audience the chance to contribute to the production costs of the book.

Acclaimed designer Stu Smith has designed the book and all revenues will contribute to the finalization of its production. A distribution project has been set in motion on a worldwide scale and the book is scheduled to be published in November.

As the artist explains, “channeling and showcasing my work into a published book has been one of my longstanding goals of my work as a photographer, as well as the desired outcome of my personal and emotional commitment to this work.”

Five years later, against the backdrop of the defeat of culture on an international level, I wish to urge the viewer to reexamine mortality through an imaginary departure towards a new landscape. The publication of this book signals the end of a journey for me, triggering the transition to the next stage. I hope that it will serve as a source of empathy, resilience and inspiration.
