Danae Papamattheou-Matschke

A music tour

Acclaimed violinist Danae Papamattheou-Matschke accepted a highly honorary invitation from the direction of the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba. She joined the orchestra as a soloist to take part in the celebration of the 65th anniversary of its foundation, performing Edouard Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole at Havana’s National Theater, under the baton of Cuban maestro Igor E. Corcuera Cáceres. This official invitation was accompanied by the hosting of masterclasses at the Academy of Arts, as well as in music schools across the Cuban capital.

Moreover, the Greek Embassy in Havana, in honor of the March 25th national celebration, hosted a chamber music concert on March 24th at the Minor Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi. Among other pieces, works by Greek and Cuban composers were performed by musicians Uve Matschke (piano), Luis Manuel Molina (guitar), and Danae Papamattheou-Matschke (violin).

The tour of the international duo Danae Papamattheou-Matschke and Uve Matschke concluded in the Caribbean with a chamber music concert held under the auspices of the German Embassy. The event took place on April 8th at the National Theater Eduardo Brito in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.
